The New Fortress is located in Corfu Town just a 9-minute walk away from the central bus station. Was built by the Venetians and is strategically located near the Old Harbor. It took decades for it to be built (from 1576 to 1645). The construction of this impregnable fortress was completed soon after the infamous Turkish invasion.
